I don't exactly remember much from that first day. We were shown to our room, but I never got around to unpacking. I think I napped, but not for too long. We let Jubilee sleep, but later came to regret that decision. Vincent cooked us two delicious meals. We declined the offer to take an excursion, preferring to avoid all types of transportation for the remainder of the day. And we began what would become a nightly tradition:
A pre-dinner soak in the hot-tub, accompanied by a nice glass of chilled cava.
We were thoroughly exhausted by bedtime, but a good night of sleep did not await. Jubilee tossed and turned, claiming to be alternately hungry, thirsty, and in need of the bathroom, until I gave up and got out of bed with her. Jon followed out sometime later with Zephyr. Eventually, Jon read books to the children while I went back to bed. Zephyr was deposited in the bed with me, then Jon and Jubilee got into the other bed in the room. Jubilee's rest was still fitful, and at some point Jon and I traded. Shortly afterwards, Jubilee peed in the bed (which, thankfully, was fitted with a waterproof cover), and the night of rest ended for all of us, except for Zephyr, who wouldn't awaken until noon. But that would be Day Three.
