My SweetLove,
As always, I am filled with awe as I watch you go about your day. You are amazing, Jubilee.
Recently you said, “It feels good to poop outside with the fresh air and sun rising above my head.” Yes it does, Jubi. You have dug two little holes in the back yard, one for pee and one for poop. We scoop your poop and add it to the compost bin to feed the plants.
You have always loved plants, but lately you are more interested in caring for animals. “I want a baby bird,” you say. You were also excited by the donkeys we saw in Spain and the rabbits at the state fair this year. You want chickens as bad as I do. Every morning you ask for pancakes for breakfast and it seems like we eat them almost that often. You usually want them cooked in shapes and recently asked for a chicken and an egg.
When you cannot eat pancakes, your second favorite option is crackers. We have to ration them out and make you eat them with cheese or peanut butter or apple slices (which you like with lemon juice on them).
We were at a party at the yoga studio where Zephyr and some older kids were battling hard with foam blocks. You are so bold and brave that you walked around in the melee like nothing could touch you. Just in case, you are prepared to handle emergencies with your first aid kit. You have a small tin filled with a rotating supply of cough drops, band aids, acorns, and aloe vera gel. Just the other night, you noticed a fresh cut on my hand and you showed up with your kit and put a band aid on it.
You are full of love and nurturing. Anybody is lucky to have you in their life, Jubilee. Always remember that. You call yourself a kiss machine or a love machine and go around giving rapid fire kisses to us. Other times you are mad, and you still stomp your foot - just like your Mommy.
When you were a baby baby, I used to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star to you. I wrote some new lyrics for you:Jubilee, my little star
How I love you as you are
Strong and mighty for your size
You are perfect in my eyes
Jubilee, my little star
How I love you as you are
Jubilee, my little star
How I love you as you are
Reading books and wanting birds
Cooking pancakes, smart with words
Jubilee, my little star
How I love you as you are
Happy Fourth Birthday, Jubilee! You can always count on me.
Love,
Dada
