Dada's Birthday Letter to Zephyr

Although yesterday was Zephyr's half-birthday, it was also the day Jon finally approved publication of his sixth birthday letter to Zephyr.

Now you are six and you were just five

healthy, smart, happy, and very alive

So much happens in just a year

Like climbing, hiking, and spotting dear

You’re full of questions, really curious

Sometimes silly, sometimes serious

Lego star wars and taekwondo

Now you can even shoot a bow

You will have the tools that you’ll need

To live, to love, to share and succeed

Learning chess and glockenspiel

I hope you know how proud I feel

Dragons, Vikings, a battle axe

Reading books of fiction and facts

You have a big temper, you blow up fast

Learn to manage this so relations will last

Riding a scooter and racquetball

You keep growing stronger from it all

Airplanes, train, we went off to Spain

‘cause chocolate croissants are worth the pain

Gelato, hot tub, Dali, and kava

bocadillos, beach walks, and sips of java

you can meditate and quiet your mind

this will help you, I know you will find

The slide at the pumpkin patch and cotton candy

boogie board, beaches, getting so sandy

I really enjoy being a part of your fun
