I Heart Laundry

Last night, Zephyr was stripping off his clothes and putting them in his hamper- one of the "chores" we decided he was ready for at 3 1/2. (He also puts his dishes in the sink after meals.) He thoughtfully pointed to the wall behind his and Jubilee's hampers and said "We should put a heart there." "Why," I asked, "because I love you so much?" "No," he answered, "because I love Jubi and she loves me." I ran to get the red paper.

Awww, how sweet! (Children learn to love when they are loved. Good job!)

your moms right, did you ever read the book i recommended, why love matters how affection shapes the brain?

oh, and you mentioned today that zephyr wants to do things on his own. must be difficult sometimes, it seems that kids really need to do this to get a good sense of their own personal boundaries and who they are, and what they think. of course parents give external boundaries as well which are important too.

great big red heart
